Welcome to the Central Southern Group

The Central Southern Group runs a study day for therapists practising within the central southern location. It is a thriving group and provides invaluable support for what often is an isolating role.

Aim and purpose

The aim of the study day is to provide a low cost education programme including invaluable therapist support. The study day costs around £20 and is held at either St Wilfrid’s Hospice in Chichester or Phyllis Tuckwell Hospice in Farnham. Last year the study day covered self support, journaling and mindfulness in palliative care.

Warm welcome

We extend a warm welcome to any therapist in the central southern region wishing to attend.

Complementary therapy Representatives

Complementary therapy coordinators and therapy leads meet every four months at a local hospice between 10 and 3:30pm. An agenda is discussed and drawn up within the group and minutes are distributed to all attendees. Bridget Purser takes a lead in the administration for the meetings and the central location of her hospice at Farnham makes it the most accessible venue for most attendees.

Our normal representatives are from the Fountain Centre and Children’s Hospice at Guildford, Portsmouth Hospice, Lymington Hospice, Southampton Hospice, Basingstoke Hospice, Farnham Hospice, Isle of Wight Hospice, Chichester Hospice, Woking Hospice and Worthing Hospice.
